Happy Monday Friends !!

Today’s HOMEMaker Monday is all about Self-Care

If you follow me on my Planner Instagram @sdabplans you will know that I have talked a lot about self-care. We are in the holiday season and it’s the first year celebrating in our new house !!! So you all know what that means! Lots of activities, that will need me to definitely to take time out for self-care !

Self-Care… You know those things you are supposed to take time out to do for yourself, but every time you get ready to, either someone else needs something or you feel so guilty about taking some time just for you, you just don’t. That’s just not going to cut it anymore.

I have recently felt a pull to do more self-care and to share about it. Oh yeah, and NOT feel guilty about it. As wives and moms, we spend so much time doing things for our families and friends, that it’s almost routine not to take time for you.

Let me tell you this though, you CAN’T give or be anything to anyone when you’re on empty ! Also you can’t give yourself wholly to someone if you your self are not whole ! That is a topic for another day though!

Self care is not at all a bad thing ! And with the holidays here, it’s important to practice self-care to avoid the feeling of being burnt out.

There are several benefits to self-care such as:

  •  Self-Care Improves Our Health: Self-care tends to improve our immunity, increase positive thinking and make us less susceptible to stress, depression, anxiety and other emotional health issues.
  •  Taking time out to care for ourselves helps remind us and others that our needs are important, too. Feeling well cared-for leads to feelings of calm and relaxation, and conveys to others that we value ourselves which contributes to long-term feelings of wellbeing.
  • Self care makes us better caretakers.

So today we are going to accept the awesome challenge of caring for ourselves and for the next 21 days, we (including me) will do one thing everyday that focuses on self-care. It doesn’t have to be anything big or extravagant, but it does have to be something just for you and you only.

I recently made one of The MINI Happy Planners™ that I own a self-care planner.  In the month of November, I wrote one idea for everyday pertaining to 34-ways-to-practice-self-care . You don’t have to do the exact things that you have listed for that day. The monthly just serves as a guide, but you must do something daily.

I have created a free printable for you below to download and print with 34 ideas for self-care.

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit, so let’s make this a positive habit that we can continue ! Self-Care equals self-love !!

Until next time,

Take GREAT care of yourself !
